Hobson Snowdrop 2017

The Hobson Electronics SNOWDROP RALLY kicks off the 2017 competition programme for Dungannon Motor Club.  In conjunction with our (now) annual Rally Navigation School, the Snowdrop Rally is the perfect introduction to Club navigation rallying.

Snowdrop Clerk of the Course Hayes Robinson (Left) gives Sponsor Derek Hobson a preview of the Snowdrop Rally Route.

Designed specifically for beginners, Experts and Semi-Experts may enter, but the Overall Award will go to a beginner.  You don’t have to attend the classes to compete as a beginner.  There are in fact two separate beginner classes, one for Rally School participants, and one for other beginners.

On this web page you will find the regulations for the event, and you should read through them for the finer detail.  You will notice many references to the MSA Regulations, e.g. “Regulations R12.2.7… will apply”.  These direct you to the Regulations of the Motor Sport Association, (MSA), and can be found at https://www.msauk.org/assets/293-338specificregulationsforrallyingr-1.pdf.

Mark Faulkner and John Kelly plot their route for last years event.

At just about 40 miles long, you can be assured of a great evening’s fun, finding your way round the Tyrone lanes, with checkpoints along the way to check your time, and that you are following the correct route.

Scrutineering and documentation will be at the Dungannon Rugby Club from 6:30pm on the 10th March, and the first car will start the rally just after 8:30pm

At just £20, the entry fee makes this a very affordable evenings motorsport at a Club level.  Why not give it a go?
